The man with the chainsaw during field service

Image
It was a typical Saturday morning. I have been to service since I can remember, so this was just another normal day of Witnessing in the territory. Where I went was very remote territory. We would spend approximately 1 hour to get there, and another one to get back. I was with my group's book study conductor ( I believe that is what it was called at the time, it has been so long), a Ministerial servant in his late 20's, we will call him Mario. He was cool.  16 at the time, I was also with an older Sister, in her 50's, and Mario's mother and 2-3 others that I cannot recall who they were. So we arrive to a house, one I personally had not visited before. Mario asks the older Sister and I to go and knock. We go, we meet a man in his 20's and the sister proceeds with her introduction, promising a future where we will never suffer, live forever and be happy. Except this guy did not seem happy. He seemed confused and annoyed. He proceeds to say in Spanish "Is this a...

The time my Teacher made me stand in front of the classroom to lead the Pledge of Allegiance

I wanted to talk about this event that happened to me when I was in the sixth grade with my school Teacher and class. Like most Jehovah’s Witnesses, we were told that we should not salute the flag or be patriotic in anyway and also voting was looked down upon. Basically, being "neutral" was the best course of action in every day life, including even giving an opinion about who we think should be Governor, President, Senator, etc.   Being a young boy growing up in the Jehovah’s Witness organization I believed that it was the truth. You are led to believe that the end of the world is coming, that in the near future Armageddon is going to come and destroy all the nations and anyone in the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses will survive Armageddon and live in paradise.   Now in order to understand why I did not salute the flag and why I was so stuck to my beliefs you have to understand what happened to me as a child and my family. When I was in the fourth grade my brother passed...

I resign as a Jehovah's Witness

Dear everyone, I Daniel G no longer wish to be known or associated with the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses and am resigning as a member.  I will not go into details and give any explanation as to why, or give any information as to my reasons. Please respect my privacy. Please know that I did not commit a sin, that resulted in me being disfellowshipped (expulsado).  This is my own personal decision and wish to live the rest of my life without the organization in my life. I do not hate or have any animosity towards anyone who was part of any of the 4 Congregations I was a part of.  Again, please respect my wishes, I do not need to be preached to, or be sent articles or bible quotes. Any attempts of talking about religion, including Jehovah Witness theology will result in me sending you my beliefs about the organization. This also includes Elders, please do not contact me for reasons involving the congregation. I will not send a letter of disassociation either, please a...

Why I no longer wish to be a Jehovah's witness

Image
I wanted to explain to you why I no longer participate or go to the meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses. I saw that the teachings in the magazines and meetings and videos no longer matched with what the Bible says. For example the Governing body teaches now that the Anointed Jehovah's Witnesses who are contemporaries( or a person who lived at some same point in time as an Anointed Jehovah's Witness from 1914 era) with the generation that witnessed the events of 1914 will not die until the end comes, and that is why the End has not come. Even though, for several years, in the 80s and 90s, it was taught that the Generation of that era (1914) would not die until the end came. In other words, that the Jehovah's Witness Anointed of 1914 would live to see the End. You can research this yourself using the Old Watchtowers, you do not need to look at Apostate material to come to this logical conclusion. The overlapping generation(new light) between Anointed Jehovah's Witnes...
