Why I no longer wish to be a Jehovah's witness

I wanted to explain to you why I no longer participate or go to the meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses. I saw that the teachings in the magazines and meetings and videos no longer matched with what the Bible says.

For example the Governing body teaches now that the Anointed Jehovah's Witnesses who are contemporaries( or a person who lived at some same point in time as an Anointed Jehovah's Witness from 1914 era) with the generation that witnessed the events of 1914 will not die until the end comes, and that is why the End has not come. Even though, for several years, in the 80s and 90s, it was taught that the Generation of that era (1914) would not die until the end came. In other words, that the Jehovah's Witness Anointed of 1914 would live to see the End. You can research this yourself using the Old Watchtowers, you do not need to look at Apostate material to come to this logical conclusion. The overlapping generation(new light) between Anointed Jehovah's Witnesses is not in the Bible. Jesus simply said that the generation would not pass. He didn’t say that it would overlap. This teaching the Governing body is teaching shows that they are not inspired by God.

The Screenshots below are from the May 15, 1984 Watchtower.

Now Look at a Graph the Governing Body recently published. Search this on the Watchtower Online Library by searching "Generation". See anything wrong with what Jesus said, and what the Watchtower said in the above article in 1984?

The fact that they use the “new light” as a reason to keep changing teachings also bother me.

Jehovah did not tell Moses one thing, and then a few years later say he made a mistake with what he said...

One other thing that I cannot agree with is the changing of words in the Bible. In English the word Discreet is still the same when referring to the Faithful and Discreet slave. But in Spanish recently they decided to remove the word discreet in the Bible and change it to Prudent. It may seem like a small issue, but when they try to change the meaning of something even as small as a word, there is a motive for that, they didn’t just change it by accident.

I am not trying to change anybody’s mind.

I respect freedom of religion and I hope that my friends and people who have known me for a long time respect that I am choosing to no longer associate with Jehovah's Witness religion or meetings.

Shunning or cutting someone out of their life because they simply do not agree with a teaching or ideas from Jehovah's Witnesses is also extremist. Knowing what I know now, I shutter to think the times I shunned people who made mistakes in their lives, or simply changed their mind about religion. Freedom of religion is a choice, and the extremist position of cutting a family member off, is off putting.

I am still the same Daniel you knew. I haven’t changed much and I do not plan on living an immoral life. If God decides to punish me for what I have decided than so be it. But I also know that the faithful slave is being unfaithful at the moment because of the above mentioned issues.
